Parys SPCA will be fully func- tional during the lockdown period, as there are several animals to be taken care of. People can still phone the SPCA emergency number, 072 894 4061, should assistance be required.
Challenges the SPCA is now facing:
* People who left their property for lockdown and did not take care of their animals.
* Numerous people have surrendered animals during this period.
* Access to care for animals that are not close by.
* The SPCA will evaluate the safety and care of animals at various establishments where animals are being cared for and hosted.
* No adoptions will take place during this period.
In times like these, the Parys SPCA calls on the community to assist with:
* Food and monetary donations. * As no charity events can take place, it needs assistance with the monthly running costs. The inspector will collect the donations.
*Reporting animal cruelty.
The community has been awesome and food and other donations came in before the lockdown. How-ever, continuous support is imperative to keep the doors open to take care of those that cannot speak for themselves.
