Discovery is abandoning Vitality rewards points

The past week Discovery’s Vitality members received messages that their remaining Vitality reward balances will be converted into Discovery Miles.

According to Business Insider for every one Vitality reward point, members will get six Discovery Miles they can use to spend at various retailers such as Takealot.com, Kulula.com and iStore. A thousand Discovery Miles roughly equals to R100 when converting purchases on online stores.

According to Discovery Vitality CEO  Dinesh Govender, each spin will still meet the minimum amount to purchase a free smoothie.

A major change to the system is that Discovery Miles won’t expire after 12 weeks as previously, but can last up to five years.

The change in the Vitality Active Rewards platform also means that Discovery will be adding additional partners, aside from Kauai and Woolworths, such as DStv, Netflix, Cotton On and YuppieChef.

Diamonds, which used to be winable from the game board, will also come to and end. For every diamond, members will receive an extra play on the gameboard.
