A warm outreach for local SPCA

Three weeks ago, the local SPCA asked the Parys community for donations, and what an overwhelming response there was – from food to tyres, blankets, beds, toys, 100 dog jerseys, potted plants and much more. Thank you so much to each and everyone who opened their hearts and reached out with a helping hand. A big thank you, especially, to the volunteers who have come forward, giving their time and love to the animals. The Parys SPCA is under the new directorship of Diane Snyman, Lorette Pretorius and Lauren Hattingh and these formidable women have turned the ship around.
They have created an exercise area for the dogs, which works on a well-managed rotation system.
The SPCA offices have also been painted and brightened up and all the puppies and kittens have toys.
While Diane and Lauren concentrate on the infrastructure, systems and the staff, Magdalene Singh and Elizabeth can now do what they do best, namely, rescuing abused animals and following up on complaints. Ashew Singh provides the crucial management of the administrative side of things.
What is still needed:
1. Puppy food
2. Even more blankets during winter.
3. Heaters for the office
4. Overalls for staff, sizes 38 and 34
5. Working gloves
6. Navy blue jerseys or windbreakers and, of course, loving homes for the dogs and cats that are up for adoption.
