On the 18th Dec a presentation of 65 title deeds was held at the Mosipedi Hall in Tumahole.
The main sponsor was Rising Tide Foundation of Switzerland. They sponsored 48 titles with various individuals sponsoring the balance.
Among these were: Mr Gerhard Visagie of Somerset West, Henrik Borelius of Stockholm, Sweden, and Theresa Emerick of Hout Bay, Cape Town.
Neil Emerick, husband of Theresa, was so moved by the pictures sent to him of i.a. Mr Radebe who, having lost his legs many years ago, was in a wheelchair, that he has committed to sponsoring 2 title deeds every month.
Mr Radebe is fiercely independent. When I tried to help him get in the line for his title deed he refused my help: “ek wil nie pla nie”.
Despite the oppressive heat a joyous atmosphere prevailed during the presentation which, as usual, was presided over by the Mayor, Joey Mochela.
The Mayor herself committed to sponsoring 1 title deed. She has previously sponsored 2.
The next presentation of 101 title deeds will be held on 23 Jan 2019 in the Vredefort Town Hall.
