Update: Hawks confiscate 30 000 Mandrax tablets in Parys

47 Year old Dexter Ntsizwane appeared in the Parys Magistrate Court on Tuesday October 2 on charges of dealing with drugs.

He will remain in custody till October 10 when his formal bail application will be heard, says, FS Hawks spokesperson, Cpt Sifiso Nyakane.

This follows after the Hawks’ SA Narcotics Enforcement Bureau (SANEB), assisted by members of Multi-Dimentional Organised Crime Intelligence arrested Ntsizwane  on Sunday September 30 after he was intercepted near a filling station in Parys.
Members acted swiftly on information about a suspicious vehicle allegedly transporting Mandrax tablets from Gauteng to the Western Cape.
The vehicle was stopped and searched whereby 30 000 Mandrax tablets to the value of approximately R2,4 mil lion, as well as R15 000 in cash and a grey Ford Focus vehicle were confiscated.
