After the ‘It’s Time’ event in Bloemfontein on 22 April 2017, the Potchefstroom church leaders took on the challenge to go back to their city and turn the communities to God.
As this vision also exists in the heart of various community leaders, individuals and organisations in the business sector, a spontaneous growth in unity followed, crossing all church, cultural, race and other manmade borders.
After years of working towards unity between various churches, church leaders in Potchefstroom are experiencing a new excitement to work together. A shared vision to stand up against the growing crime, corruption, and broken society has led to a spontaneous growth of meetings between various church leaders from various denominations within our city.
They all express the desire to pray and work together in making a difference in the Potchefstroom community. The vision to ‘touch’ Africa with God’s love and working towards transformation in society has also grown in the hearts of various visionary business people in the city over the last few years.
When the Potchefstroom church leaders (PCL) approached the business sector through the Potchefstroom/Tlokwe Business Chamber and the Touching Africa initiative, there was a momentum never before experienced in the history of Potchefstroom.
Now, the city and region are preparing for their second Day of Unity to pray together at Olën Park Stadium. The organisers of the event were unanimous that Uncle Angus Buchan with whom they work closely and whom God has used in a mighty way to reunite the nation in prayer should be the preacher at It’s Time Potch on 9 September. The event is all about God. It is not about anything else or any person, but God alone. On the promise of 2 Chron.7:14, we will humble ourselves before God.
Angus Buchan is a full-time evangelist and renowned speaker at local and international events. He and his wife, Jill, live on Shalom Farm in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. They have been blessed with five children and 11 grandchildren.
Angus preaches the undiluted Word of God, unashamedly.
He is a man of faith. The well-known film, ‘Faith like potatoes’ that emerges from his life story, has inspired many believers. He has become a familiar household figure across the world through his encouraging television programmes, Grassroots and Family Time.
People who work closely with Uncle Angus describe him as a humble follower of Jesus Christ. He will always search for the will of God and then follows it in obedience.
Angus has also written several inspirational books through which many believers have found spiritual growth. His latest books will be available at the event.
It’s Time Potch is a day of prayer for the city and region. Entrance is free as the organisers of the event are volunteers who trust the Lord for donations to cover all costs.
