Because giving is a crazy, satifying and rewarding thing – even if means rose pruning!

...and what a party it was!

About 20 people from young to old, reacted to a Facebook and website invite shared by Gazette, asking people to join a rose prunning party at the tunnels in Allenby Street on Tuesday 24 July.
A lot of hard work and a lot of blisters, but for those who joined an absolute rewarding and satisfying experience, and a lot of laughter.
After a demonstrations on the do’s and dont’s of rose pruning it was scissors in the hands for the eager team.
All that was asked was to bring good humour and joy with – and what a joyous party it was helping the 5 people who are responsible for the tunnels to have beautiful roses in Spring, in order to sell and provide for their families. Some even brought there gardeners and grandchildren along.
Crazy – you might think? But then giving has always been a crazy, beautiful, satifying and rewarding thing we humans do.
Pruning in one tunnel is finished now. If you want to join in the pruning fun for the second tunnel, please phone Rykie on 082 633 6685 if you need more information or are willing to help.
