Another 87 title deeds handed over

The Ngwathe mayor, Joey Mochela, marked another milestone at the Master Nakedi Sports Centre on 12 July, when she handed over 87 title deeds to beneficiaries of Tumahole and Schonkenville.
This presentation was a continuation of the Khaya Lam Land Reform Project partnership between the Ngwathe Council, Khaya Lam and various sponsors.
The main sponsor at this event was Private Property, a national website, advertising property for sale.
Together with their members who include all leading estate agents throughout South Africa, they presented 30 title deeds. Another major sponsor was Mr Riaan Malan of Somerset West who sponsored 24 title deeds.
This is an indication of the awareness throughout South Africa of the need for security of tenure with Ngwathe as the focal point of the initiative.
To date, Khaya Lam and its sponsors have issued over 1 750 title deeds in Ngwathe. A significant number of these properties have since been traded.
Khaya Lam operates throughout South Africa and is in the process of titling almost 7 000 South African citizens living in townships with the funds at their dispo-sal.
