Three remarkable women who could do with your vote

Parys - they need your vote!

Put together three friends – one a Masters student in Chemistry, another a law student and the third a psychologist – and you get a winning combination of ambition and a sense of business, driven by true friendship.
Three women who certainly can do it – even in construction, traditionally known to be a man’s world.
Even though they knew nothing about construction, their involvement in a social outreach programme made them see the poor housing conditions people sometimes have to live in.
Here, the vision was born for the company directors, Refilwe Mogale, Nthabiseng Moljane and Mannini Setai, to start their own construction business in the township of Tumahole, where they knew they could make a difference with affordable housing.
Being friends from school and working together on a school project at the town planning office, motivated them even more to explore the endless possibilities of construction.
Now, six months later, their company, Ahang Amalmagate Construction, has been nominated as the only Free State company among the top six in the Can Do Unbreakable Season 2 series, sponsored by Nampak.

The first house they built.

The competition mainly focuses on entrepreneurs giving the winners R100 000 of resources to help their business. Should they win, they plan to use the prize money for equipment and machinery for Ahang Amalmagate Construction.
Together with their four employees, they currently do mostly residential projects and renovations, but will be able to accept bigger contracts with better tools and machinery, they say.
They have already walked a mile to learn whatever they could to market and expand their business.
All they need now is the community’s vote to win. Voting ends 20 July and all you need to vote is to go to the Can Do website at goo.gl/F6NRv5, watch their company’s inspiring introduction video, click on their names and vote for them. Ahang Amalmagate Construction needs your support to make a difference in the community.
