PLEASE COMMENT on the new Draft Rules for Registration of Small-Scale Embedded Generation
Interested persons, licencees and municipalities have until 16:00 on 31 May 2018 to comment on the National Energy Regulator of South Africaās (NERSA) Draft Rules for Registration of Small-Scale Embedded Generation.
Under new draft rules every solar panel on every house as well as backup generators will have to be registered.
The draft ārules for registration of small-scale embedded generationā leave no room for exceptions. Any form of power generator of any size will have to formally be registered. That is Photo Voltaic Cells (Solar Panels), wind generators, biogas- diesel- and fuel cell generation. All this apply toĀ both on or off-grid systems. In short even if your solar panel or generator does not connect to your local electricity network, you have to register.
