CeramiCraft, a private training provider accredited by the CATHS SETA (Culture Art Tourism Hospitality Sports Sector Education Training Authority), in collaboration with Epilepsy SA, Free State and North West Branch, is offering craft-minded individuals an opportunity to participate in a sponsored training intervention. This means there is no charge for the training of students who qualify.
With this training, you can obtain a National Certificate in Craft Production at a NQF 2 level to the value of 141 credits, SAQA ID 48806.
The training will take place at the Edu-Craft Studio at 52A Boom Street (next to the Epilepsy SA Centre). It will take place from 08:30 to 16:30 from Monday to Thursday, and from 08:30 to 13:00 on Friday for a six-month pe- riod.
The minimum entry requirements are a pass in standard 7/ grade 9, a minimum age of 16  years and a 13-digit SA identity document.
Training will consist of theory lessons and practical application sessions in the craft of  ceramics.
The qualification covers the full skill spectrum needed to be a successful crafter i.e. craft production, craft marketing and craft   enterprise.
Interested persons can collect an application form from Keri and Pam at the studio. The application must be accompanied by a copy of your ID.
Training will start on 26 February, after learners have gone through a skills assessment.
There is no charge for the training.
Learners are expected to provide for their own transport and food, and they will be     required to commit to and attend the training for the entire 6-month duration.
They will also have to meet the necessary assessment criteria.
