FS Police launch FESTIVE SEASON OPERATION

On Saturday, 11 November the, Provincial Commissioner in the Free State, Lt. Gen Lebeoana Tsumane officially launched the Free State Festive Season Operations in Thabong, Welkom.

The purpose of the launch was to display the show of force in preparation for the festive season. Joint operations by various law enforcement agencies will be conducted to ensure that the community of the Free State as well as visitors are and feel safe.

The show of force in a form of motorcade and drill platoon resumed from Boitumelo Shopping Centre to Thabong Indoor Sports Centre.

The Provincial Community Policing Forum Chairperson Advocate Sephiri Mosholi ehen giving the message of support encouraged the community to report any misuse of police resources to ensure that they are directed to the right course, which is to prevent crime and protect the community. “We will work with the police to ensure that our community enjoy a safe festive season” said Advocate Mosholi.

Before delivering his keynote address, the Provincial Commissioner accepted the Free State Operational Plan on behalf of the MEC for Police Roads and Transport, Honourable Sam Mashinini. During his address, Lt Gen Tsumane said to the Thabong community” We are gathered here today to carry forward our clarion call to you as residents of this province, to support and work in partnership with the police during festive season. We are here to say, we cannot allow criminals to rule your festive season and we cannot allow criminals to rob you of your all year earnings which you acquired through legitimate hard work and dedication. To achieve all these, police cannot do it on their own, they need your support and working together.

Lt Gen Lebeoana Tsumane handed over one hundred and twenty patrols vehicles to various cluster stations within the province to ensure safety during the festive season
