Villiers. The Police in Villiers arrested two suspects for house robbery following an attack of a 71 years old farmer last week on Wednesday 22 March  at about 17:30. It is alleged that the elderly man responded to a knock on his door and he was attacked by four men who assaulted him with an iron rot and left him tied up.

The two suspects aged 31 and 41 were arrested on Monday 27 March at about 09:00. The police in Villiers were looking for stock theft thieves when they stumbled upon dagga in a house in Qalabotjha. The Police searched further in the yard and found a number of firearms and at least 270 ammunition that is believed to have been stolen in the Villiers house robbery.

Following a thorough investigation by the Police one suspect was hinted to be in Groot Vlei in the Mpumalanga Province. The Villiers police liased with their colleagues in Groot Vlei to assist with the apprehending of the third suspect. On their arrival it is alleged that shooting ensued between the suspect and the Police and the suspect was fatally wounded. A firearm believed to have been stolen in the house robbery was recovered. The deceased was 26 years old.

The police in Villiers are in pursuit of the fourth suspect and they believe they will make an arrest soon.
