Water plant flooded after heavy rain

Residents of Kwakwatsi in Koppies were at the time of print still experiencing a water shortage as a result of the water plant being flooded after heavy rain last week.. Water tankers were supplying the area with water as a temporary relief. This week, the mayor of Ngwathe Municipality, Ms Joey Mochela, expressed her gratitude towards the different government departments including the police, roads and transport and the municipal emergency services for their prompt response to emergency situations during the floods last week. A number of properties were damaged, roads were closed and service delivery infrastructure was also affected. Residents in Ngwathe are urged to report any emergency situations to 056 811 5834.
