An adventure weekend like never before awaits adventure and outdoor enthusiasts from 24 to 26 February.
The event, All Things Adventure, promises to be a dream for adventure lovers ‒ not only for the latest in outdoor experiences, but also to be able to try out the equipment and to participate in the activities!
The event will be held at Stonehenge in Africa on the banks of the Vaal River in the Vredefort Dome’s conservancy. It is just a stone’s throw from Parys, about half an hour from Potchefstroom and 45 minutes to an hour from the Vaal Triangle.
The 4×4 track at Stonehenge will be particularly busy. Well-known Danie du Preez from IPS 4×4 Outdoor Adventure Store will be in charge of the track, where competitions for 4×4 owners will also take place. For a small fee, these vehicle owners will be able to drive on the track and take part in the contests. Danie will be available to offer technical advice throughout.
Dealers of the best-known new 4×4 vehicles are among the exhibitors and will also take turns in showcasing their vehicles’ performance on the track.
There will also be an interesting competition for men and women to demonstrate their driving skills. The person who can most skillfully reverse a vehicle and trailer will take home an exciting prize!
The Woema Challenge, presented by the well-known Theunis Nel, will also be incorporated into the weekend. This competition to determine the best 600 cc adventure bike rider comes with an enticing prize of R50 000. For more details, visit www.woema.org or contact Theunis at theunis@woema.co.za. There is a special motorcycle track on the terrain for this purpose.
Other riders, besides the contestants, will also have an opportunity to test the track and gain valuable insights from the more experienced riders.
Various motorcycle dealers have already indicated that they will have exhibitions at the show.
Numerous knife makers who will be exhibiting their wares promise to be another big treat. They will also be demonstrating how some of the knives are made.
School children can participate in the well-known ‘Kids’ Warrior Race’ that is included in the list of activities. Fluid Multisport Challenge will have a competition consisting of a running event of about 4 km, 3, 5 km rowing and 22 km cycling. There are two persons per team. For more details visit www.kinetic-events.co.za.
Paintball equipment, crossbows and diving gear will also be on show and there will be testing grounds and a diving tank to try-before-you-buy. Owners of veteran and vintage cars will have their own spot to display their pride and joy.
In addition to tents and other camping equipment, boat dealers will also be there to show off their stock and there will be an opportunity for white-water rafting on the Vaal.
There will be an ample choice of food stalls from which to choose and a playground for the children.
Come listen to the music of Henk Grimsell and other artists at the stage on the banks of the river.
