NWU to discuss fee increases

The North-West University (NWU) will discuss the proposed fee increase for 2017. Only after proper and appropriate consultations with all stakeholders, will a proposal, through the Financial Committee, be referred to the NWU Council for a final decision.

The North-West University (NWU) will discuss the proposed fee increase for 2017. Only after proper and appropriate consultations with all stakeholders, will a proposal, through the Financial Committee, be referred to the NWU Council for a final decision.

It has taken note of the announcement by the Minister for Higher Education and Training, Dr Blade Nzimande, regarding the measures to accommodate not only needy students, but also those from the ‘missing middle’.

The NWU, like any other institution, needs to maintain financial sustainability in order to continue with its core business. This core business entails producing ground-breaking research and rendering quality education – while shaping the lives of our students – to ensure that we deliver well-rounded graduates.

“I know that I can count on the cooperation of all stakeholders of the university in taking the NWU forward and reaching a final decision in this regard,” said Prof. Dan Kgwadi, Vice-chancellor of NWU
