Dangerous new drug that is just like sweets

Merafong’s children have just become even more vulnerable with the emergence of a new drug that looks and tastes like jelly babies. It has been reported on social media that druglords have recently introduced the drug to expand their market for narcotics by enticing young school children with a highly addictive drug that can be mistaken for sweets. The communication officer of the Police in Carletonville, Warrant Officer Peter Masoea. confirmed that parents must be on the lookout for the new drug. The so-called ‘jelly babies’ are apparently a concoction of dagga, pseudoephedrine, alcohol, gelatine, sugar and citric acid. They look similar to the soft sugar jelly sweets we know as jelly babies or wine gums, just slightly larger. Parents are warned to be aware as primary school children are the most at risk because of what it looks like. The drug is reportedly so addictive that it takes only one bite of it to get a child hooked.
