Museum doors open again

It’s official. The museum in Parys has opened its doors to the public again after being closed for some time now. Iris Andrew handed over the “key” to the new manager of the museum, Huma Sekhoetso Sehume on Saturday 23 July.

It’s official. The museum in Parys has opened its doors to the public again after being closed for some time now. Iris Andrew handed over the “key” to the new manager of the museum, Huma Sekhoetso Sehume on Saturday 23 July.
Together with Huma, there are three more volunteers who will be his right hand and will teach visitors about the heritage, history and culture of Parys. They are Dora McCloen, Morné Lewis and Moses Matshwane.
Saturday’s day of fun at the museum was well received with over 50 visitors, especially youth.
People of note who attended were Dr Rampou and Rev Maarman. Artists who enterteined the guests were Dakota Collins, Paul Jacobs, Dwayne Uys, Zelton Malapisane, aka Elton Dreamz & Fani from a group called +27 (a socially cohesive music group in Pary).
The new opening hours of the museum will be from 9:00 to 15:00 on Monday to Friday and from 10:00 until 13:00 on weekends.
