“The Adams Road to Selbourne in Evaton will be upgraded. A new interchange on the R42 Barrage Road is being built that will connect the new Vaal River City and Sharpeville. All these roads will not be tolled,” he said. After long marathon speeches, some of the communities had this to say.
“We are happy that the premier touched on the most dangerous drug ‘nyaope’ plaguing the community,” said Daddy Thinane, provincial chairperson of the U’mkhoto we Sizwe Military Veteran Association (MKMVA. The premier addressed and gave hope for the involvement of the MKMVA in the projects throughout province.
“I am very satisfied with the premier’s statement,” said the executive mayor of Midvaal, Councillor Bongani Baloi.
His statement was echoed by the executive mayor of Emfuleni, Councillor Mahole Mofokeng. He said it was very good in terms of the progress and the promises made by the premier.
Makhura made a firm commitment on the department of roads that lead to the Vaal River City. The agricultural project to take place in the three local municipalities is one of the things mostly appreciated.

Bishop Steven Zondo of Rivers of Living Water Ministries in Evaton said, “There’s not much investment in Evaton. It remains a dark city. “The man talked about major progress, mentioning Tshwane and other regions. Here the premier talked about the R82 which remains a concern of the community.” Bishop Zondo added that the premier compares the economy of Sedibeng to Tshwane metro, Erkhuruleni and the City of Johannesburg while Sedibeng region is still being neglected.
