Weekend crime and successes – Vanderbijlpark

Three illegal shebeens were closed, eight people were arrested for driving under the influence and 11 suspects for possession of drugs. All Sectors were affected except CE area was not affected by any crime this past weekend. The house breakings have increased this weekend as a lot of houses were broken into, affected sectors were CW 4, Bophelong Ext. 2, Ext. 14, SE 2, SE 3, SE 6, SE 7and SW 5.

Stolen items were Plasma TV’s, jewellery, clothes, cell phones, portable dvd players, IPad, laptop and cash were stolen. Two of these houses was broken into suspects broke while the victims were still asleep they were woken up by an alarm system. These criminals are targeting the early morning times between 04:00 in the morning. The community must be aware that we are having the group that is specifically operating in the mornings. And will also want to alert our community as colour does not

play a role in these house breakings it has come to the police attention that eye witnesses saw three white males that could be linked to this.

Theft of motor vehicles has decreased this weekend, motor vehicles that were stolen is a Nissan bakkie and a VW Fox blue in colour. Three unknown males stormed into a drinking place pointed a firearm and cash. There were two house robberies over the weekend one in Mantevrede Plot and the second one happened in Beethoven street SW 5.

The police had a male who was shot and robbed cash of R2000, in Bophelong. A case of attempted murder and robbery aggravating has been opened. Although the victim managed to drive himself to the hospital as he was shot on his legs. The suspects were driving a white VW Citi Golf.
