In just three days, no fewer than three incidents of rape were reported. A 26-year-old woman from Marikana, Promosa was raped by a co-worker on 12 June.

It is alleged that they were on their way to their respective homes in Marikana when the co-worker suggested that they first go to his home and to her place thereafter. When they got there, he locked the front door and switched off her cell phone. When she told him that she had to be somewhere else, he grabbed her by the jacket and pulled her into his bedroom, switched the phone back on and demanded her PIN code.

After calling someone saved as “My Hubby,” the suspect grabbed the woman by her neck and pulled her closer to him and grabbed her around the throat and proceeded to rape her. Meanwhile, a 40-year-old woman was raped by her ex-boyfriend in Baipei, Promosa at 01:15 on 13 June. She was at home when the suspect came by to collect his belongings.
