EVATON. – Archbishop Stephen Bafana Zondo from Rivers of Living Waters Ministries in Evaton on Saturday saw his church packed by highly motivated young people from across the country.

This was a youth leadership seminar held to commemorate and celebrate the lives of young people who died fighting against apartheid by educating, inspiring and teaching the Word of God Zondo asked the youth to stand on their faith as the youth of 1976 stood against the apartheid regime to fight for better education.

The theme of the event was ‘Dress to Impress.’ The auditorium was so packed to capacity that an overflow tent was set up outside, with the youth in clothes that represented the different careers they want to follow. The programme was driven by ever-funny Thapelo ‘Tips Shampoo’ Seemise who impressed with his brand of jokes while conducting the event. Other dignitaries who were present were Princess Khunjuziwe Mabena, who spoke on ‘Activating the power Within.’ She encouraged girls to start investing in their lives by buying books that would profoundly educate them and instead of buying expensive hairdo’s. On the list was Sibusiso “DJ Sbu” Leope, who shared a lot about how he grew up. He encouraged young people to surround themselves with positivity.

The house was on fire as young people showed their gratitude to their Bishop. Zondo highlighted the freedom charter and was able to bring light, clarity and understanding to the youth by educating them on who they are and what it meant to have a freedom charter.

Further, he gave the entire house his new book ‘Moments of Truth,’ as part of encouraging youth to read more often.
