New principal for Vredefort’s Chris van Niekerk school

Mr P.A.M. Masilo, previously the principal of Boitlamo Secondary School in Tumahole, has been appointed as principal of the Chris van Niekerk Intermediate School in Vredefort as of 13 February this year.

Mr Masilo started teaching at Kwawatsi Secondary School in 1989. He then went to Khora-Thuto in Botshabelo. In 1997, he was appointed HOD at Yakhisizwe Secondary School in Tumahole and, shortly after, became deputy principal of Selogilwe Primary School in 2002. In 2011, he was promoted to principal of the same institution.

After seven years, he was transferred to Boitlamo Secondary School as principal. “I have this passion for transforming learners’ lives and making a difference in people’s well-being. I believe in the power of the Holy Spirit and God’s mission on
transformation.”

“Touching the lives of the poor is my key responsibility…Chris van Niekerk is my paradise,” Mr Masilo said.

Mr Masilo’s predecessor at Chris van Niekerk was Welma Malherbe, who took early retirement. Mrs Hannie Pretorius had been the acting principal for the past seven months.
