Until the station re-opens, residents of Parys will have to make use of the licence and testing stations in either Vredefort, Viljoenskroon or Sasolburg.

Parys residents will probably now have to wait even longer for the Parys Licence and Testing Station to re-open.
This comes after some of the computers with the eNatis system were apparently stolen last night, Gazette was told.
The station has not been able to process transactions since 13 March due to an electrical problem which has not been solved as yet, the Free State Department of Police, Roads and Transport’s spokesperson, Hilary Mophethe confirmed today, 6 April.
The station also experienced a similar electrical problem in the past. Although the matter was then attended to by the local municipality as well as the department’s own maintenance section, it could not be resolved, and the Department then had to appoint an external service provider to rectify the wiring before new equipment could be installed.
But the electrical problem was not the only stumbling block the station faced the past four years. Service has been interrupted time and again also because of cable theft and damage caused by lightning.
