Supply lost to Eastern Free State customers following heavy rain

Electricity users are reminded to treat all electrical installations as live and dangerous as supply can be switched on without notice.

Heavy rainfall in the Eastern Free State have led to a loss of supply to 3 825 Eskom customers in the Petrus Steyn area.  Four substations are affected.

Electricity supply to Mamafubedu, Damplaas Kragbron and to customers feeding from the Reitz Munic – Petrus Steyn 1 22kV overhead line has been interrupted since last night.

Extremely wet conditions are complicating restoration attempts as most areas are inaccessible for Eskom’s vehicles.  Currently, where possible, technicians are patrolling lines by foot.  We urge the community to remain patient while our technicians are braving harsh conditions in their attempt to restore supply as soon as possible.
