Heavy rain causes flooding on portions of Weiveld Rally route

Weiveld 300 postponed - new date

The Weiveld 300 rally that would kick of the 2023 off-road car racing season at the Weiveld Boeresaal this Saturday, 18 February, has been postponed to Saturday 25 February 2023
Heavy rains in the Weiveld area outside of Parys last night caused substantial flooding on portions of the route for Saturday’s scheduled Weiveld 300. The Organisers, Off Road North and Off Road SA have therefore taken the difficult decision to postpone this weekend’s opening round of the 2023 season to Saturday 25 February 2023 in the interests of competitors, landowners and spectators.
They apologised to all parties concerned for the inconvenience and thanked everyone for their support and understanding. The weather forecast for the week ahead is very positive with hot, sunny weather predicted which will provide sufficient time for the route to dry out sufficiently to allow the race to go ahead on Saturday 25 February 2023. “We look forward to your coming out to join us at the Weiveld 300 on the new date,” the organisers said.
