150 students can study for free at Potch Academy

Potch Academy has 100 New Venture (business studies) and 50 Beauty and Nail Technology Grants available for students to study for free.

The main selection criteria are a financial need and academic potential.

Beauty and Nail Technology

The 1 year Further Education and Training Certificate: Beauty and Nail Technology will enable you to be employed in the beauty industry as a beautician or make-up artist.

This course provides the learner with an in-depth understanding of the primary theoretical and practical aspects of skin, body and nail technology. On completion of this course, learners will be able to perform the full complement of treatments required from a therapist: Basic facial, massage, make-up, waxing techniques, manicure and pedicure.

New Venture (business studies)

Further Education and Training Certificate: New Venture Creation

This 1-year course is ideal for anyone who wants to become an entrepreneur.

Modules include

• Identify and create a New Venture
• Skills required in a business environment
• Basic economics within a market economy
• Manage a new venture by applying business principles and techniques
• The role of leadership and management

• Proof of Highest School Qualification – Grade 11 or Matric
• Most recent school results
• ID Document
• CV
• Testimonial from your schools
• Proof of Residence
• Bank Account details – Must have a bank stamp
• Motivational letter for choosing the specific field of study
• All documents must be certified and not older than 3 months
