Boarding for your animals

VEREENIGING. – The boarding kennels of the Vereeniging SPCA are open for bookings and the cost per day is R80 per dog and R60 per cat.Bookings must be made in advance as they have limited space. Please remember the following:
* NO dog or cat will be accepted for boarding unless they are fully vaccinated and proof of this is produced.
* Bring something that smells of home when you check your animals in. We provide all the bedding and food but the dogs and cats settle down if they have something that reminds them of home in their kennel. We prefer an old blanket or a jersey. Mark it so it does’n get lost.
* If you are bringing your own food please do not get upset if we give you most of your food back when you collect your animals. People get so upset because they think they did not feed the animals but in truth some animals just stop eating and then they employ a few methods of their own to get them to eat. They provide them with alternatives and watch them closely to see that they do finally succumb to the food. It is NOT in their best interest to send a thin animal home or even have one starve in their kennels so PLEASE UNDERSTAND! Sometimes they even go so far as to provide a home cooked meal – in the end they all do eat.* If you book for a certain period you will pay for that entire period in advance. If you decide to collect your animal earlier than agreed they do not refund any money as they could have given that kennel to another booking if the arrangements were made in advance.
Please understand you pay per day at the kennels and even if you fetch early morning you will still pay for that day. The rates are very reasonable and boarding provides them with an income to support all the other animals in their care, don’t
* Provide them with alternative contact numbers in case of emergency and your veterinarian’s details.
