Car accident claims the life of Koppies SAPS employee

Captain Earle confirmed that Zola was not on duty when the accident happened.

An employee at the Koppies police station, 39-year-old Lerato Sylvester Nyelele Zola, died in a car accident on October 7. SAPS spokesperson Captain Loraine Earle said Zola was driving in his private vehicle when the accident happened at about 07:30 in the morning.

The driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident was also declared dead on the scene, while the two passengers in the vehicle were taken to a nearby hospital.
