90-Year-old granny receives wheelchair after house fire

Thank you to all those who made it possible

Lydia Motsoane (90) has finally received a new wheelchair after she lost everything, including her wheelchair, when her house in the Tambo section, Tumahole, burned down on July 22.

Her daughter is currently taking care of her.

Lydia’s neighbours approached Fani Tekane, chairperson of the Rise ‘n Shine Community Foundation, for help to find a wheelchair for her after the tragedy. On August 21 she received her new wheelchair from the foundation through an anonymous donor.

Tekane thanked everyone that was involved in the project, especially Corine Human and Karin Meyerowitz, for their support in making this possible. He also wants to thank Renée Hartslief for her support.

Donations for a bed, furniture, linens, blankets, groceries or any other donation is still welcome.
Those who can help can contact Tekane on 078 107 8757.
