Two Nigerian men suspected of selling drugs to Potchefstroom students, arrested

Potchefstroom: A 28-year-old suspect appeared in the Brits Magistrates’ Court for possession of drugs. The suspect’s appearance in court came after his arrest at Damdoryn near Hartbeespoortdam on Monday, August 8, 2016. According to information, police responded swiftly after receiving a tip-off about a man who was seen allegedly selling drugs near Damdoryn. Upon arrival at the scene, they found the man in possession of seven small packets of Crystal meth with estimated street value of R5 000. He was then arrested.

Potchefstroom: A 28-year-old suspect appeared  in the Brits Magistrates’ Court for possession of drugs.

The suspect’s appearance in court came after his arrest at Damdoryn near Hartbeespoortdam on Monday, August 8, 2016.  According to information, police responded swiftly after receiving a tip-off about a man who was seen allegedly selling drugs near Damdoryn.  Upon arrival at the scene, they found the man in possession of seven small packets of Crystal meth with estimated street value of R5 000. He was then arrested.

In another unrelated incident in Potchefstroom, two Nigerian nationals aged 24 and 30 appeared in the Potchefstroom Magistrates’ Court, 10 August 2016 for possession of dagga and mandrax.

Their appearance emanates from their apprehension on August 8, 2016, after the police acted on a tip-off.  It is alleged that the police in Potchefstroom received a tip-off about two people selling dagga to learners.  They went to the given place near a local clinic.  A search was allegedly conducted and dagga as well as mandrax, with estimated street value of R5 000 was found concealed in a created compartment in the chair.  Both suspects were then arrested and investigation into the matter continues.
