Hijacked car found; two women to appear in court

Sgt Rani says the 26- and 29-year olds have been arrested and will be charged with posession of suspected stolen property

Members of the Kroonstad Highway Patrol arrested two female suspects in posession of a suspected stolen vehicle on Monday 12 June.

According to police spokesperson, Sgt Josephine Rani, police members received information about a vehicle travelling from Vredefort towards Kroonstad. They followed the information and stopped the vehicle which had two female occupants.

The duo could not give a reasonable account of the ownership of the vehicle, says Sgt Rani. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the vehicle had been hijacked in Cape Town and registered falsely in Gauteng.
