The Fezile Dabi District Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit (VCIU) is investigating several cases of theft of motor vehicles in Sasolburg and Parys in the past week and cautions motorists to be aware of their surroundings.
On Thursday, 18 May, a silver Toyota Yaris with registration number HL 33GN GP was stolen in Sasolburg during a rugby match.

The following day, a Toyota Fortuner was stolen at the DP de Villiers sta- dium, also in Sasolburg.
According to the 32-year-old victim, he parked his vehicle at the stadium to attend his child’s school match.
After disembarking, he made sure all the doors were locked, and the windows were closed.
To his horror, after the game, he found the vehicle with registration HKM 426 FS missing.

The third incident was reported at Parys SAPS on Saturday, 20 May, when a bronze-coloured Toyota Fortuner with registration HXF 748 FS was stolen.

The vehicle was in a parking lot at a restaurant. Anyone with information on locating the abovementioned vehicles should contact Sergeant Moorosi Mokoena of the Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit at 076 791 5740, or ano- nymously on the MySAPS App. The SAPS urges vehicle owners to always be extra vigilant of their surroundings.
Keeping a copy of the registration documents in a safe place and memorising the registration number of the vehicle, will help the police when you report the vehicle stolen.
