A 37-year-old woman from Sonderwater was savagely and sexually assaulted after a female neighbour accused her of stealing her boyfriend last Sunday.
According to the victim, she was asleep in her shack at about 11:00 when she woke up to the sound of her neighbour hurling insults and accusations at her.
The furious woman allegedly entered the shack, grabbed her hands and pulled her outside.
The neighbour’s friend appeared and held her the victim’s hands behind her back while the woman punched and kicked her. As the victim fell to the ground, she saw her assailant wielding a stick.
The victim says the neighbour ripped her clothes off, held her one leg up and tramped on the other and sexually assaulted her with the stick.
The victim was left in severe pain with injuries to her genitals, right eye, hand and knees.
Kelebogile Trom, Ikageng SAPS spokesperson, urged women to resolve their issues in a decent manner.
“They should avoid violence or insulting one another. It’s humiliating to assault your fellow human being like this, especially a woman,” she said.
