With this COGTA project jobs have been created for 36 local people who are not only working in Parys, but also the other Ngwathe towns.
Although they are not replacing the work done by the refuse removal trucks, they will help to keep the Ngwathe towns clean, must respond rapidly to service delivery challenges specifically refuse removal and will enroll environmental campaigns in the communicity. Currently there are 5 bikes but the number will be increased.
They are on the road the past month and is a mobile based project under the Municipal Rapid Response Platform (MURAPA) using the so-called Kariki bikes.
