Help your child make a tin can honey bee pencil holder

Help your child make a super cute honey bee-inspired pencil holder from a recycled tin can, wool, bubble wrap, some cardboard.

If your child loves arts and crafts, they’ll enjoy making this cute bee pencil holder made from a recyclable tin.

What you need

  • A recycled tin can (clean and rust-free)
  • Yellow wool
  • Black wool
  • Two googly eyes
  • Hot glue gun
  • Craft glue
  • Scissors
  • Bubble wrap
  • Two strips of black cardboard

How to make it

  1. Wipe the tin with a damp cloth to ensure it is dust-free.
  2. Cover the tin in craft glue and roll the wool around the tin, sticking the wool to the glue (starting from the top of the tin, and working your way to the bottom).
  3. Wrap some black wool around the bottom of the tin.
  4. Stick on the googly eyes with a hot glue gun.
  5. Attach two strips of black cardboard to the top of the tin (antennae).
  6. Attach to pieces of bubble wrap on either side of the tin for wings.
