As most residents and businesses battled without power or water, Overcomers lived up to the motto “Help is Coming!”
Staff, interns, Everyday Children’s Church (EDCC) and Operation Safe Place youth packed the familiar Overcomers bus and overflowed into the Town Hall square.

Over the dreary drone of generators, the choir and band belted out songs and sounds of hope and worship, interspersed by energetic children dancing and words of wisdom from the ministry team.
While the executive mayor, her councillors, and the Development Forum were in intense negotiations with Eskom; light, love, and levity filled the hearts and minds of Overcomers’ staff and frustrated residents for two colourful but unified hours.
