“Music healed me,” says local artist

The talented rapper, songwriter and motivational speaker, Lawrence Hlahla, also known as Wonder Bxx, is finally living his dream of being a musician.

“I started rapping when I was 11 years old, just to escape from my daily insecurities,” says the 18-year-old artist from Tumahole. He adds that he never thought music would become his career.
“There is healing in music,” he adds. “When no one believed in me or supported me, I decided not to give up.”
“No prayer is stronger than the one from a teenager’s heart. I vowed to use my music to educate the youth about teenage insecurities and motivate them to keep the faith,” says Wonder Bxx.
His breakthrough came when he released an extended playlist (EP)) called The Voice of the Voiceless.
His EP got more than 1,000 downloads in a month and was among the top trending releases on Spotify.
“Seeing my mother supporting me now is the most valuable blessing I’ve ever been granted.”
His next project is called “The finger of God” and will be released in August.
Although he still has a long way to go in building his career, there are undoubtedly more blessings in store for him.
