Community's assistance asked after truck hijcaking at filling station

The Vehicle Crime Investigating Unit (VCIU) detectives appeal to members of the community to assist with information regarding tracing and arrest of  three (3) suspects on the run after hijacking a truck at a filling station in Parys.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, 23 March 2022 at about 21h00. The complainant alleged that he stopped at a filling station in Parys to buy an energy drink. Upon his return from the shop he got inside the truck and started it, but could not get it to move, says Capt Malebo Khosana, spokesperson for the police in the Fezile Dabi district.
He then got ouut of the truck to conduct an inspection on the vehicle.
The 3 unknown males then approached him and instructed him to get back inside the truck and all drove off. On their way they took the truck driver to the back seat, tied his hands and covered his face so he could not see where they were heading.
The suspects left the truck driver tied inside the truck  and fled  with Sunflower grains estimated to be the value of R375 000.00
The driver was found with no injuries inside the truck that was recovered in Heilbron.
