Never underestimate the value of grading your tourism accommodation facility

Never underestimate the value of grading your tourism accommodation facility

The Tourism Grading Council of South Africa hosted an insightful quality assurance workshop for tourism accommodation facilities in Parys on Tuesday, 15 February. The Free State Gambling, Liquor and Tourism Authority and Ngwathe Local Municipality partnered with the organisation for the event.

The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of quality assurance in promoting the recovery and development of the tourism sector. Quality assurance through the Tourism Grading Council SA offers numerous advantages to facility owners. Among others, it includes free grading of the facility and financial assistance for up- grading of a facility within the stipulated terms and conditions if approved. According to new regulations, government institutions will only use quality assured establishments when hosting workshops and seminars. Guesthouses and other tourism accommodation establishments should, therefore, note the value and benefit of grading a tourism accommodation facility. For information on quality assurance, and grading tourism accommodation facilities, contact the Tourism Grading Council of SA’s provincial quality assurance specialist – Free State and Northern Cape, Sean Lemour at 083 288 8976.
