Son appears in court for allegedly stabbing father to death

The 34 year old Kgosi Sehume appeared before the Vredefort Magistrate court for murder after stabbing his father (55) to death at their home in Mokwallo, Vredefort
The incident was on Saturday 27 November at about 16:38. According to police spokesperson, Sgt Josephine Rani, the suspect was at home with his girlfriend and his
father when they started arguing about meat. It is alleged that the suspect wanted to take the meat which the victim bought and the victim refused.
During their argument the son stabbed his father
twice under the left arm and ran away.  The victim tried to chase him but fall down and passed away. He had two stab wounds.
Neighbours saw the father on the ground after hearing noises. They contacted the police.
Warrant Officer Petrus Nhlapo arrested the suspect at one of his friend’s house not far from his home.
The suspect is still in custody and will appear again in court on 2 December for a formal bail application.
