Police discover illegal drug lab at a plot in De Deur

Sedibeng – Police have launched a manhunt for a suspect after members of the Gauteng Police Highway Patrol Unit discovered an illegal drug laboratory in De Deur on Friday.

Police spokesperson Captain Mavela Masondo says, ” Police were patrolling on the N1 when they received information about drugs being manufactured at a plot in De Deur.

“On arrival, drugs described as crystal meth and cat as well as equipment and chemicals to manufacture drugs were found at the backrooms of the main house.”

Masondo said the value of the drugs is yet to be determined. Police are searching for a man that is allegedly renting the rooms from the owner of the house.

Masondo reports that more drugs were recovered in the eastern side of Sedibeng when members who wereit who were patrolling on N3 in Heidelberg received information of a vehicle delivering drugs in Ratanda.

Masondo commended members of the  of newly relaunched Highway Patrol Unit who continue to make an impact on the reduction of crime in Gauteng.
