Municipal equipment stolen

Criminals nowadays do not care what they lay their hands on, as long as they can sell it for money.

This issue was highlighted when criminals stole sewage infrastructure this week in Carletonville. According to WO Peter Masooa, the communication officer of the police in Carletonville, a municipal employee arrived at his workplace in Lang Street as usual at 07:00 on 8 August. Shortly afterwards, a colleague showed him that some of the sewage infrastructure at the site had been stolen. The employee went to investigate and found that the thieves had stolen sewage sludge digester valves and a spindle wheel, also used in some sewage infrastructure.
