The Traffic Department’s Licencing and Testing Station in Parys re-opened it’s doors to the public on Thursday 13 August after deep cleaning was done last week.

With testing stations being under enormous pressure during the Covid-19 pandemic, it is a huge challenge for personnel to get back on track after the backlog due to stations closed following the lockdown. Adding to this, daily rotational loadshedding implemented in Parys as from June, as well as Eskom loadshedding doesn’t make it any easier.

Still residents of Parys are thankful for personnel who really do their utmost best to speed up the waiting period with friendly and helpful personnel at key points to make sure people have the right forms so that once they enter the building all paper work is done and ready.

Compliments for Sipho Tshezi assisting with a smile and fast efficient service outside the building as well as Monica Melato who make sure that all paperwork is filled in correctly.

Also a word of thanks and appreciation for the kind and caring assistance of Kesentseng Moleko, Zodwa Mohapi and Thembi Zitha, doing a splendid job in the eye test room where you can be assured that all health and safety regulations are followed strictly with regard to sanitising.

Once you visit a testing station in a city or elsewhere, you will know that personnell at the Parys Licence and Testing Station can be complimented for their work – right through from taking your ID photos till you get to the cashiers.

Although the landline at the station was not working yesterday, it is worthwhile to visit the centre beforehand when you need to do a transaction to make sure you have everything that is needed.

Remember a certified copy by the police of your ID, proof of address, your ID photos, a pen, the applicable forms and documents filled in correctly – and the correct amount of money makes it much easier for the cashiers.
