Boipatong residents today barricaded roads as a result of electricity outage in the area.

The affected roads were Frikkie Meyer Boulevard and Nobel Boulervard.

Residents demonstrated their anger by throwing rocks into the road.

Vehicles had to be redirected to other routes or risk being stoned by angry protesters. ” Our electricity is very unstable. We will not stop protesting unless our electricity problem is resolved.”

Police were on the scene to keep the situation under control.
