Expired drivers licences valid for further 3 months

The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) has announced that all drivers licences, learners, licence discs, temporary permits, roadworthy certificates and public drivers permits (PDPs), that expired during the lockdown, are valid.

According to RTMC, it will be valid for a further three months. The period has been extended by 90 days starting on 1 June and lasting up until 1 September 2020.

 

At the launch of the computerised learner licence testing sytem at Centurion Driving License Testing Centre by Transport Minister, Fikile Mbalula confirmed that the validity of expired licences that expired during the period of March 26 and May 31 will be extended by a further 90 days from June 1.

Mbalula also confirmed that registering authorities, testing centres and vehicle testing stations would open on 1 June.
