NWU to host its first ever virtual fun run

Do you miss the sound of your feet as they hit the ground when you run? Has your mood been low since you have not been able to take part in any marathons? Are you frustrated by the fact that you can’t compete against anyone for first prize?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, the North-West University (NWU) has a solution for you.

The NWU will be hosting its very first 5km Virtual Fun Run on 16 May from 6:00 to 9:00 for students, staff, members of the community and sponsors.

All you will need to participate is a smartphone and a fitness device that will help you enter your times on Wufoo at of the end of your run.  Places will be allocated to all runners.

The public is encouraged to register as there are a number of great prizes up for grabs. Registration will close on Friday, 15 May at 9:00.

“After registering all the participants will be given more information via email. We also urge all participants to adhere to lockdown level 4 regulations of staying within a 5km radius of their house during the fun run,” says NWU stakeholder relations practitioner Louis Janse Van Rensburg.
