Action and awareness

The Executive Mayor of Ngwathe, Joey Mochela and the council speaker, Neheng Mopedi, helped to disinfect the Parys taxi rank last week. They joined the municipal public safety and disaster management team, led by Polla Chochoe, and the Fezile Dabi district environmental health department, which had embarked on the initiative.

This was part of municipal strategies to act against and raise awareness of the Covid-19 outbreak. The Executive Mayor also donated sanitiser to Parys Correctional Centre and supported the health department’s initiative to conduct local screening and testing for Covid-19.
