On the third day of the 21 day lockdown period, police has already made several arrests in both Parys and Tumahole where people did not adhere to the lockdown regulations.

Police once again warned residents to obey the regulations, or face the consequences.

  • No children are allowed to play in the streets. Make sure children stay at home.
  • No liquor  to be sold during the lockdown period.
  •  Adhere to social distancing calls.

Members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) today arrived in Sasolburg and will stay there to concentrate their action on the main routes in this area.

No crossing of provincial borders are allowed and the 24/7 road block remains in place on the N1 and the Potchefstroom bridge on the Free State/Northwest border.

Take note that Home Affairs in Sasolburg will only be open during week days between 10:00 and 14:00  during the lockdown period and will only assist with temporary ID’s and death certificates. 

While Ngwathe still have no action plan for shelter for the homeless, Manguang has taken 74 homeless people to a camp in Tierpoort.
