Huge damage in Carletonville after storm

Several large trees were blown over on sidewalks and a large tree fall over on a driveway in Opal Street.

According to the SGB Chairperson of Laerskool Danie Theron, Mr Caiphus Sebatlelo, the school suffered big damages when trees toppled over on a building at the school as well as a shelter for vehicles.

Although some residents claim that the damage might have been caused by a tornado, this is currently unconfirmed.

In the meantime residents of the area near Reinecke Street are stuck without electricity. Although it was at first thought that this problem might also be the result of the storm, it has since been confirmed that theft at the municipal electrical substation in Erica Street caused this problem.
